Centina were engaged in the early planning to progress a floor plan and project principal requirements, into a viable, fit for purpose headquarters for Zeiss Australia within the Tonsley Innovation District. The specialized facility houses 120 permanent staff, and features a sales/service centre, prescription laboratory, manufacturing, R&D and offices.

Centina were able to provide early cost certainty in producing an elemental estimate, and subsequent cost control through the design development phase. They also engaged preferred service trades to workshop design solutions collaboratively with the consultant, to ensure a lean, fit for purpose outcome.

Architecturally, the design pays homage to the sites former use, with an industrial aesthetic, fused with a sharp modern feel. Key elements include web forge cladding, raked aluminium panels, interlocking panels, cantered glazing, and a mezzanine breakout space.

Internally, the functional fit out included production assemblies, clean rooms, open/ closed office spaces, and dispatch. Architectural fit out included feature entry, kitchens and wet areas to a high level of finish.
